Joseph G. Abramowski, age 57, of Grand Rapids, died Sunday morning, May 5, 1996 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, unexpectedly. He was born April 13, 1939 in Manistee and was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (
Franckowiak) Abramowski. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Manistee, the class of 1957. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Administration in 1964 from
Michigan State University.
Joe married Betty Ann Kolanowski on August 26, 1961 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He was currently employed at the law firm of
Miller,
Johnson,
Snell, and
Cummiskey, PLC as
Director of Finance. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Grand Rapids.
He is survived by: his wife, Betty Ann Abramowski of Grand Rapids; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa “Teri” and Thomas
Muszynski of Grand Rapids; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Julie Abramowski of Grand
Haven and Timothy and Tamara Abramowski of Grand Rapids; three grandsons, Thomas
Muszynski, Jr. and Tyler
Muszynski both of Grand Rapids; and Jesse Abramowski of Grand
Haven. Sisters and brothers-in-law; Leona
Smejkal, Rosemary and George Musculus, and Rita
Myers all of Manistee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Janet Abramowski and Donald and Audrey Abramowski, all of Manistee; his sister-in-law Lorraine Abramowski of Grand Rapids, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerome and Chris Kolanowski of Manistee. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Abramowski on April 13, 1996.
Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Thursday, May 9, 1996 at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Graveside services will take place on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery also in Grand Rapids. The family will receive friends at the Reyers North Valley

Fuller NE in Grand Rapids on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
The evening
Vigil Service from The Order of Christian Funerals will be prayed Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Memorials will be established in Joseph’s name for Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Rapids and for St. Joseph Catholic Church of Manistee. Envelopes will be available at Reyers North Valley
Chapel and at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee.
