Philomena “Phyllis”
Adamczak, 79, of 622
Ramsdell St., Manistee, died Tuesday, March 26, 1996 peacefully at home.
She was born Sept. 14, 1916 in Manistee, the daughter of the late Max and Elizabeth (
Bartoszek) Kadzban. She married Harry J. Adamczak on Sept. 4, 1937 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1994.
She retired from the Glen of
Michigan after over 20 years of employment.
A communicant of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, she was a member of the Saint Joseph Rosary Society.
Survivors include: Three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Stanley
Franckowiak of Manistee, Janet and Edward “Linke”
Ebeling of
Arlington, Va., and Mary and John
Gaudette of
Egan, Minn.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas F. and Kay
Adamczak of Manistee, Kenneth E. Adamczak of Manistee, and David and Julie (Wicinski)
Adamczak of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine
Batterson of Manistee; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Gertrude Kadzban of Manistee, Maurice and Jaqueline Kadzban of
Wyoming,
Mich., and Aloise and Marvine Kadzban of
Grandville,
Mich. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was also preceded in death by: a sister, Christine Gorch; a brother, Joseph Kadzban; and by two infant grandchildren, Nathalie and Nathaniel
Adamczak.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, with the Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski, celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee.
Evening
Prayer from the Order of Christian Funerals will be prayed Friday, evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee, where friends may begin calling today (Thursday) after 7 p.m. The family will be at the funeral home this evening from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. to receive friends.
A memorial will be established in Phyllis' name for Love for Children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
