Searching for parents of Allen Hiram Cook, said to have been born New Haven, Macomb Co., Michigan 26 July 1860. Parents born in Michigan, names unknown. He married Adaline Gladys Olds, ca 1880 (before census, probably Mecosta, Michigan). He died 1 Nov 1936, Fergus Falls, Otter Tail, Minnesota.

I looked at the Cooks for 1860 census (at least from the ancestry.com index, only two possibilities for any males who were old enough to have had Allen, and neither one of them were married in the 1860 census. If Allen was born in July 1860 - surely his parents would have been born when the census was taken even if he was not listed. So, who were his parents? I have been unable to locate him in the 1870 census either. In 1880 he is shown with his wife in the Mecosta Co Michigan census.
