Thanks for writing back! Honestly, no, I cannot remember an orchard. The camp itself had a main building that was used like a mess hall and some outbuildings that were for the campers - basically big halls with beds and a room with toilets and sinks - but no hot water. There was a small lake that we would use for boating, but I don't think we ever swam there as it was always fall when we went for the weekend. If I had to guess from memory, the camp buildings might have dated back to the 30s or 40s, The old house was (and keep in mind this is over 30 years ago) very much a late 1800s/early 1900s farmhouse - it was up on a hill across a road (I couldn't see the road, too much trees, etc) and I only saw it in moonlight as we would walk to the graves with the younger kids to do ghost stories. It was 2 stories tall and was rather foreboding given the setting. The cemetery would be at what I think is the east end of the camp property and only held a few graves - but I really think I remember Van Amberg in there. The house was actually east of the cemetery.
Perhaps you might write the property owner a letter introducing yourself and give contact information. That way, you have formally asked for permission and at the same time showing respecting their property and privacy. Chances are probably good that they will let you see it and have it documented. No guarantees, but most folks, when properly approached, are usually pretty gracious and accomodating.
