Frederick Tager or possibly Taeger was the 1/2 brother of Heinrich Behne. The widow Tager married the father of Heinrich Behne in Germany and when Heinrich Behne first came to the US he stayed with F. Tager in Solon, Leelanau Co, MI.

My grandmother was Annette Kilwy Gerndt Behne. She lived in Empire, MI on a farm on Hwy 109. My grandfather Frederick Gerndt died in 1930 and grandma remarried Herrman.
If you have information about our family I would be thrilled to have it as part of my documentation about our family genealogy.

Looking for information on a Katherine,(I assume)KILWY, born in Good Harbor, MI. She went by Kitty in Alaska. She came to Fairbanks in 1904 and died in 1931 in Fairbanks, AK.
Her probate shows relatives in Michigan but gives no particulars.

An inquiry was sent from Emelia SCHAUB, Attorney at Law, Lake Leelanau, MI, to Alaska in 1962. She gives no information.

Another inquiry was sent from Esther BARBER, Toledo, Ohio, to Alaska in 1968.

Kitty had a daughter, Hazel who may have married someone named CONLIN. They lived in Chicago.

Yes Catherine was a Kilwy by birth. She married a man named G. Newton Hensley in Alaska. Her family refered to her as Kitty. She was born in Good Harbor, Leelanau County, MI.
She did have a daughter Hazel who married James Conlin from Chicago. There are lots of Kilwy's/Kilway's in Michigan.
