There is a government issue grave marker for him in the churchyard of the Omena Presbyterian church. He enlisted in Company K, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters June 13, 1863, at Northport, He was then 19. He was honorably discharged in 1865. I have found no mention of him in Leelanau county records. I would like to get names of his parents, siblings, and/or cousins.

I don't have the roughly $70 it takes to get the records you referred to, recorded & mailed to me. I know I can travel to the National Archives in Washington DC & get a free look at what records there are, but am not able to do that either. I have Miller cousins in NW Michigan, who are probably related, but they have no records one way or the other. I know many Civil War buffs have already pulled and assembled military records of all Co. K veterans. I am hoping this message will ultimately give me a lead on Thomas Miller's family connections in NW Michigan
