Thank you for your reply about Kittil Torgerson. Yes, I do have that info. from the 1880 census but thank you for sharing the information. Since Sina (19yrs)and Thomas (15yrs) were living with their older sister Gunhild and her husband Charles Olson in 1880, it makes me wonder if Kittil and his wife Gunhild may have died by that time.
Kittil, b. 1823 Bø, Telemark emigrated to America in 1845 with his parents, Torjus Knudsen and Gunhild Kittilsdtr. Torjus died onboard ship and was buried at sea. In 1850 Gunhild, Kittil, and another son were living at Oakland Township, Jefferson Co., WI (Koshkonong settlement area). In 1860: North Manitou Island, MI. In 1870: they were in Sumner, Trempealeau Co., WI, about 30 miles from Eau Claire.
Sina died from TB in Eau Claire in 1892, leaving her husband and 3 young children, including my grandfather Elmer who was 5 yrs.
So many remaining questions.
