Hello...We are seeking any information on: Carroll Clark Owen and his wife, Lela Davis and family, John and Thomas Ryan and family, Carrie and Oscar Moore and family, and Mark and Malinda/Melinda Halpin and family, including any associated surnames, any parents, siblings, grandparents, family history, places of birth/origin, ship arrivals, etc.

We believe Carroll Clark Owen and his family are originally from Wales. Carroll's father may have been named Clark Owen. Carroll was my great grandfather, and was born about 1889-90. He was in Lapeer, Michigan in the 1870 US Census, and in Detroit, MI in the 1890 US Census. He married Lela Davis, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Davis. The Davis family may have entered Canada and relocated to Michigan. Carroll C. Owen registered for the draft, according to Military - World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918, and died in 1978, in Genesee Co., MI, according to the SS Death Index.

One of Carroll’s sons was Marion Clark Owen, who married Ellen Malinda Ryan (both born in Lapeer, MI), a daughter of John H. Ryan, who married Carrie Moore, a daughter of Oscar Moore. John was a son of Thomas Ryan, Immigrant from Ireland, who married Malinda/Melinda(?) Halpin, daughter of Mark Halpin, of West Point, N.Y., who may have immigrated from Ireland with his parents. Mark Halpin and family may have also relocated to Michigan from New York with the Ryan family.

It appears that all of these families settled in and around Lapeer County, Michigan.

Marion Clark Owen was my grandfather, who died in 1984 in Davison, Lapeer Co., MI. One of Marion and Ellen’s sons, Robert V. Owen, is my father. We are working together to find his ancestors, but he knows nothing of his family beyond what is provided here.

While we do have family photos, which we are willing to share, we don’t subscribe to Ancestry.com, and finding online census records for Michigan is difficult at best.
