Yes, I would like a copy of the obituary on Charles C. Owen, b. 1807, in NY. If there is one. He's the one we're trying to find the father of. This is the priority to my dad.
As for the Davis Lake story, I will ask my dad if he knows WHEN this person drowned. Supposedly, he just finished working (mowing a field or something) and decided to swim home across the lake, rather than walk around the lake. He developed a cramp and drowned. My dad told me the lake belonged to his Davis family, so I guess there must have been a lake at one time...We would appreciate anything on this story you may run across, but don't knock yourself out!!
