In 1880 my great grandfather William Appleman at 10 years old was living with his mother, Almira Vanslack Waite and his 8 year brother Henry Appleman with the Waite Family in Attica Michigan. William and Henry's Father, George Appleman is a huge mystery. All documents I've found indicates that he was born in Canada and the only George Appleman I can find in Michigan that might be a match is located in Barry Michigan. Almira Vanslack is also a mystery. I've found her grave marker in the Attica Cemetery. Her grave marker says she was 37 years old when she died 1887 shortly after she gave birth to her 6th child.William(1869) and Henry(1872) had 4 1/2 sisters while Almira was married to Richard Waite. Mary(1880), Jessie(1882), Jennie(1885-1889), Almira(1887-1887). I can find no information as to where Almira Vanslack came from prior to 1880. Henry's death cert says he was born in Smiths Creek, MI, but there are no other documents to prove that. There are no documents indicating where William Appleman was born. I can't seem to find any information on any Vanslack family living in Michigan. My family has been searching for information about George Appleman and Almira Vanslack for a long time. They must of met each other sometime in the late 1860's prior to William Appleman's 1869 birth. William Appleman lived most of his life in Attica owning the local general store through the early 1900's. I'm hoping somebody will see this and offer some information. Thanks for Reading.
