Correct in that the Hiram Brown material in this post is unrelated. With the exception of the Tuscola material, the remaining information is for the Hiram Brown/Mary Jane Harkness family that lived in Washtenaw County, Michigan, with their three children, Carrie Brown Begole, Alice L. Brown and Forest Buffum Harkness Brown.
There seem to be several "Hiram Browns" in the area. The Washtenaw Hiram Brown came to Michigan from New York. He was the son or Daniel Brown/Nancy Fairbanks, who lived in the Rushville, Yates, New York area. It is unclear exactly when he and Mary came to Michigan (circa 1880), but their three children were born in New York.
Hiram would eventually build a boarding house in Washtenaw County, and he earned his living by farming. Thus the Hiram who was the longest resident in Michigan was a different one from the census data you have printed here.
This was acknowledged in the post below. That post is correct. (I am a descendant of Hiram and Mary Jane Brown.)
