Hey, This is Nathan from Florida. You are looking for the Family of Albert Cox Central Mine. Albert Cox was my Great Great Grandfather and is buried in Cloquet in the Family plot with his wife Lydia Goldsworthy Cox- in our Family Mausoleum. They had four Children, Ella- Irene- Lydia C- and Hanford Frank Cox. Handford married Bernice Ostrander and had 3 daughters.... Ruth, Jane, and Mary Cox. Mary Cox was my Grandmother and I went to take care of her in Texas in 2005-2006 at her winter home in Mission. She had cancer and I took care of her, as well as Jane her sister who died of cancer I think In 2003- in texas as well. Jane was my great aunt and God Mother.... Aunt Ruth the eldest sister passed away in about 2010 in Arlington Va. There are only FOUR of us left in the family. Ruth's Daughter Linda- my cousin who lives in Colorado, Myself here in Florida, and my Father and younger brother who live in Minnesota. -

George Law aged 60 was frozen to death while driving from
Copper Harbor to Mandan Keweenaw county , a distance of three
miles Sunday.The body was found by searching parties in an
upright position in the cutter on a deserted logging road.

died Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm at her home in Copper Falls.
She was the widow of the late John Padberg who died in December of 1935.
Born in Germany she had made her home in Keweenaw for many years , and was
well known throughout the county.
She is survived by a son Henry of the Eagle Harbor coast quard and a
daughter Louise living at home.

I had some of the information on the girls, but more is always better.

I have Matthew's death in Fitchburg, MA, 1844, along with his burial place. Could there be another Matt?

I know Dora died after 1944, but where? I assume she is buried beside her husband, in Fitchburg, but need to look up the latest.

I am searching for information on the descendants of Matijus (Mat) Severinski and and Marica (Maria, Mary) Kratofil Severinski of Severin na Kupi, Croatia. I believe there were a total of 10 daughters: Slafka Krizmanich, Danica Verbanac, Mary Kren, Ane Kruljac, Katherine Shafer (Safar), Antonia Erjavac, Wilma (Vilma) Zagar, Paulina, Agata (Barica) Casni and Dragica. Many of the daughters immigrated to Calumet, MI, while Mary (my grandmother) and Wilma went to Irwin, PA. While I have some information on the U.S. daughters, I am interested to find out if there were any additional relatives (brothers, sisters, cousins) of Matijus Severinski here in America when the daughters immigrated to Calumet, as well as any information on the daughters that stayed in Croatia: Wilma, Paulina, Agata / Barica and Dragica. (Wilma initially immigrated to the U.S. but returned home after the early death of her husband.)

I am also researching Karl (Charles) August Palmroos (Palmrose in USA)born 1860, or 1861 near Salo, or Pernio,Finland. I found his passenger record, 1901, but unable to find birth record on the Hiski BDM site. He married Mathilda Johnson in Finland abt. 1887. Don't know his parents names so I am stymied. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

We discovered that my great grandfather (William deLouis Bessolo) did have a daughter, Cora, who was born in Michigan in about 1890. He divorced from his wife in 1893 and was looking for his daughterin 1915 in Montana. An article said his mother-in-law got custody of Cora and was living in Montana. We found her (Caroline Wagner) in 1900 but lost her.

Connection? What was your grandmother's name?

Yes I m still looking for the elusive Carlo, it would be amazing if it was the same guy. On their marriage certificate Carlo occupation is Donkeyman I presume on Italian ships. He too seems like a love and leave them type of guy. I cant find him on any UK census I think he must of been at sea at the time. I have abit more info on him if you would like to know more let me know.

Lynne - I hope you are still on Ancestry. This one caught my attention. My ggrandfather (William DeLouis Bessolo/Beslow) was born 1868ish. His father's name was Carlos (we found this on one of his prison records). He was a notorious "love 'em and leave 'em" guy. He married my ggrandmother in Minnesota in 1894 then left her in 1910 in Seattle (after having 8 kids..he came back a couple times before his final farewell to get her pregnant twice). We are having a hard time finding him before his marriage in 1894. We have references to Michigan (and even Calumet Michigan). He said his father, Carlos, died in the mines there but haven't found that record yet either.

Sounds like the timing could be the same guy (left when your grandmother was 6 so that would have been 1893). What was his career?

I believe that the John and Elma you seek were my grandparents. John was born in Finland in the early 1890s and passed away at age 95. They had 14 children and 40 grandchildren. Most are in Michigan.

The Isak I am searching for had none son named Albert. But there was another Isak Johansen Lauri who also left Alta in Norway and immigrated to Michigan. I believe that he had a son called Albert. I also believe that Albert was born here in Alta.

I believe that I have an Isak laurie in my tree...father to Alfred b. 1863 who married Emma Methi of Norway in 1888.
On their Michigan marriage license Alfred Lauri listed his father as Isak. They were living in Calumet.

My grandmother was a daughter of Henry Miller. I have done a great deal of research on the family. From what my grandmother told me, Matti changed his family name to Miller after coming to America. Matti and Heleka's first daughter (Christina) was born on the trip to America. The rest of the childern were born in America. I am trying to find information on Henry's first wife Lempi. I all the different records available her last name seems to change: Marjeta, Marita, Soini.

As I read your message there haven't been responses so I thought you wouldn't mind a friendly remembrance...my
grandfather & mother (Ted and Edith Oja) lived at 414 Seneca Street in Fulton - just across the street from Sofie. Sofie and Grandma were great friends - at least one phone call a day and visits with baked goods too. Ted and Edith's dog "Duke" would begin his "round's" at Sofie's and she would call Edith and let her know Duke's day had begun...and then the conversation would continue. I suggest that you write to the local church where steady residents there would be able to give you greater details,I can only offer this remembrance. I am working on Oja and Heikkinen ancestry myself. And it just occurred to me...Patrick was a name that fell from Lyman's lips once in awhile....they always seemed to use last names in conversations...first, seemed that was all that was needed.

I have learned that Martins parents were Anna Stilin and Anton Mataija and also Victorias parents were George & Lucille(Jure & Luce).Martin came to US in 1905 and Victoria in 1906 with daughter Mary.I think they were possibly born in Crikvenica.I would still like to find out info on their parents, all I know is the names.

I have seen the records but i dont believe that this is the correct family. Charley was born 1883 and hat is far from 1898. John was born 1862 and I have seen different John Lauri`s in the census. I believe that the correct John is registered in the census as born 1864 in Norway but John married to Mary was born 1868.

I have discovered an interesting record about Isaac Loari 74 year old living in Houghton in the 1900 census. I do not have a membership at ancestry so I cant see the record. May be some other can?

Hi Thomas and thank you for helping me.

I am sure that Anna Lauri that married Charles Lampi is a daughter of Isak E Lauri and Marie Johanna Adamsen. Her real name was Aminda Johanna and she was born here i Alta 8. September 1875.

Isak was married earlier to Johanna Borchgrevink (b.1828 Roros, Norway) but she died desember 1871. They had 2 child who immigrated to US and Michigan over New York.

It seems that Johan Henrik (John H) never get married.
Emma married Cristopher Kulley and had two sons with him. Later she married Charles Garrow and had 5 more sons that I know about.

In the 1900 census Charles is living with his sister Emma and family.
