my grandmother was louisa bessolo-follis. she was from bessolo but had relatives in scarmagno. i have some info on her and my grandfather, pietro follis.

My family came from Scarmagno too, one century ago. "Bessolo" is a part of Scarmagno (North Italy, near Torino). Maybe we are relatives !

One one draft card for WW1 in 1918-1919 is one Abraham Bessolo born 1896 in Bessolo Italy. That may be a clue.
He lived in Keweenaw county and was a student at Ferris
Institute in Big Rapids Michigan.
He stated that he emigrated in 1905. Hope this helps.

I WAS TOLD BY MY FATHER WHO IS CARLOs GRANDSON THAT HE MARRIED MARY PERRY IN PENARTH WALES UK IN 1887 THEY HAD MY GRANDMOTHER OLIVETTA IN 1889 BUT HE DISSAPEARED 5 YEARS LATER AND MY GRANDMOTHER NEVER HEARD OR SEEN HIM AGAIN. AS FAR AS SHE KNEW HE WENT BACK TO ITALY. THIS IS SO ANNOYING I JUST WISH I KNEW WHERE HE WENT ON HIS MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE HIS SURNAME IS SPELT BESSELO AND HIS FATHERS NAME IS ALSO CARLO. I THINK HE WAS HIDING SOMETHING PERHAPS ANOTHER WIFE IN ITALY WHO KNOWS HE IS A VERY MYSTERIOUS MAN. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WE WERE RELATED IN SOME WAY BUT WILL WE EVER FIND OUT.

The only one that I could find close in age was in Houghton county.

sorry i have no idea where any bessolos are i was just so pleased to find the surname on the boards i have been searching for 6 months for any connection to the name i was told it was besselo so that was the name i was looking for but somebody on another site suggested it was bessolo. i still am very confused. any suggestions you have got i would be very greatful.

I think that there are so many people who have posted on this name I am now confused exacty which Bessolo family is yours. Are you looking for Carlos? What was his wife's name and what year was he born. Also any children's names . I take it that they lived in Michigan?
I found only two in emigrant records using the soundex.
