I'm wondering if anyone here can check on an obituary for me?

Charles Rosseau died Nov. 5, 1900 at the Soldiers Home in Grand Rapids. I think this may be my 20 year brick wall, 2nd great grandfather. I have a copy of the death certificate and it says both father and mother unknown, Charles was born 1832 in America and wife is dead. His wife and children are the only way for me to verify I'm chasing the right person~~ My Charles's last name is spelled Rousseau but (Rosseau) is close enough.

I have found him listed with his wife and children in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census's in Michigan. Wife is Charlotte and kids are: Antoine Babineau, Macala Babineau, Charles Rousseau, Charlotte Rousseau, Joseph M. Rousseau and John Jonas Rousseau. This is all I can find on this family, with the exception of his son John Jonas Rousseau (my great grandfather), I have a ton of information on him.

I am currently trying to obtain his records from the Soldiers Home but I've been told they have all been moved to the Lansing Library. Depending on what these records give me I may order the Military record but without dates or information I don't know how to order anything?
