Hi,
Thank you all for your information on my earlier post.
I did contact the woman who posted the grave site information for Charles Rouseau (note the spelling is not Rousseau) as I thought earlier.
She also posted a picture of the death certificate and I'm guessing this is my 2nd great grandfather, because there is so very little known about him. I can't read it good, but it looks as if the Veterans Home was the informant of his death. There is no known date of birth, parents names and his birth place is listed as America...this covers a way too big area. He is also listed on the certificate as a widower.
Death is listed as November 5, 1900 but I can't read cause of death.
From my understanding for anyone to live or be at the Veterans Home they had to be in the Military and be honorably discharged...is this correct?
If the informant did not know any of the information to fill out the death certificate would the main archives have any additional information? I'm going to write to them any way in hopes I get some new information.
Thank you again,
Delayne
