Native of Kalkaska Dies in Florida
Arthur E. Anderson, 60, of Battle Creek, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 8, while vacationing in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Relatives were notified that Mr. Anderson had died on the way to a hospital.
Mr. Anderson, a superintendent with the P. & M. Construction Co. left Feb. 7 for the Florida vacation.
He was born July 23, 1895, in Kalkaska, the son of Lind S. and Matilda (Johnson) Anderson. He married Bethel Vipond at Kalkaska, August 20, 1924. She died in November, 1953.
Mr. Anderson had been employed by the P. & M. Construction firm since 1947, and prior to that time held a similar position with the Haines and Haines firm working on construction jobs in the Battle Creek area, and in Indiana. When he first moved to Battle Creek he was employed by the Advance Rumely Co. and later by the Battle Creek Gas Co.
Surviving are a son, Owen L. Anderson, two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Winifred) Cory, and Mrs. Al (Vivian) Truman, all of Battle Creek; one brother, Oscar Anderson of Kalkaska; two grandchildren, Suzanne Beth Cory and Michael Lind Anderson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. – Leader and Kalkaskian, March 22, 1956; Information courtesy Leader and Kalkaskian,
