Passed May 25, 2009. Tom was born on July 4, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Ferdinand and Josephine (Frisa) Oglia. Tom received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from St. Johns Fisher College, a M.S. Degree in Chemistry from RIT and an MBA from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He had worked for Sandoz Pharmaceutical Co. in New Jersey before joining and retiring from Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. in Kalamazoo. He has published technical papers and is a co-inventor on a U.S. patent. He enjoyed bicycling, nature, photography and was an avid woodworker. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Tom is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Oglia of West Palm Beach, FL and many cousins. Calling was Friday 3-8 at the Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman St. Funeral, Saturday 8:30 from funeral home the funeral home and 9 AM in St. James Church (109 Brockley Rd.) interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be made to Rochester Habitat for Humanity (755 Culver Rd. 14609) or a tree may be planted in Tom's name through www.arborday.org/yourtree.
