Died on Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 2007 at Heartland Healthcare, Kalamazoo, MI. Bob was born on January 9, 1922 in Caro, MI and was the son of Robert Lynn and Marilla (Dowling) Robinson, Sr. Bob was a millwright, photographer, pilot, farmer, but most of all, his passion was showing and judging horses. He was the owner and operator of the family farm on East DE Avenue in Richland. Bob was a member of the Richland Township Fire Department and had been its Chief. Bob was a lifetime member of the Percheron Horse Association of America and Michigan; a member of the Michigan Draft Horse Breeders Association; a board member of the Michigan Great Lakes International Draft Horse Show; a member of the Plainwell Pilot's Association and a member of the Michigan Carpenters Union. On August 9, 1942, at the family farm, Bob was united in marriage to the former Marilyn Read, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2003. Bob is survived by three daughters, Laureen L. (Bill) Knapp of Richland, MI, Maureen M. (Paul) Parker of Imlay City, MI and Abby Lynn (Rick) West of Nacogdoches, TX; five grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Margaret Robinson of Caro, MI and Dorothy Seelye of Richland, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ruby Ann Robinson in 1955; a son, Sherman Read Robinson in 1969; a sister, Ruth Robinson and a brother, Lynn Robinson. The funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Monday, March 12th at 11:00 AM at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Richland Chapel with the Rev. Ethel Stears of Lowell, MI, officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland with his draft horses pulling the caisson with Bob's casket.
