Mr. Benjamin F. HOOGENDOORN - Kalamazoo, MI, died Thursday evening, February 5, 1998. Mr. HOOGENDOORN was born April 10, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Nicholas and Minnie (DONTJE) HOOGENDOORN. During WW II, he served with the U.S. Army Paratroopers. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1991, coming from Portland, OR. He attended Third Reformed Church and was a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nellie SMITH; and a brother, Nicholas HOOGENDOORN. He is survived by 5 children. David HOOGENDOORN, Craig HOOGENDOORN, Bill HOOGENDOORN, Dyann HERR, and Kenneth CRAFT; several grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters and their spouses, Jeanette NEWHOUSE, Jake (Geri) HOOGENDOORN, Cornelius "Coolie" (WILLIE) HOOGENDOORN Roy HOOGENDOORN, Wayne HOOGENDOORN, Juanita (Emery) MCNETT, Jack (Ida) HOOGENDOORN, Tricia (Allan) VANDENBOS, and Willie (Loys) KEASEY; a sister-in-law, Vera HOOGENDOORN; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Duane DeHaan officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A private interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
