Hello!

I am looking for any information about Anna Kulash (maiden name), born about 1909 and immigrated from Russia in 1912 with her mother. She lived in Allegheny County, PA for some time.
I just found in Iosco County Naturalization Indexes file, that some Anna Kulash was naturalized there. Records is filed in box B1F6, page 312.
Can anybody help me to verify this?
Kulash surname is not very wide-spread. And it could be a chance to find her.

Thanks in advance,
Leonid

Collins family at Lake Van Etten earlu 1940's

I am looking for Harold Collins, possible middle initial is B. He was born abour 1914 in either Sweden or Michigan. He is the adopted son of James Collins and Lucy Withey Collins.

In the 1930 census Harol, James and Lucy are living in Dwight, Huron Co., Michigan.

In the early 1940's Iosco Co., Michigan, Harold was with them. This would have been earey WW II probably 1942 to 1943. My mom spent her summers there, she was born and raised in Alpena. Harol might have been early 20's then.

Harold later moved tot he west side of the state of Michigan, he met his birth brother.

I also believe Harold was in WW II, I did find an enlistment that fits him, this one says he was not a citizen yet, but born in Sweden, this would fits the birth places of his parents on the 1930 census. It looks like they enumerator originally had Sweden and wrote over Michigan for Harold, or could be the other way around.

We know he lived in Breedsville, Van Buren Co., Michigan but don't know exactly when.

James died in 1948 in Michigan

Lucy died in Oct 19656 in Breedsville, Van Buren Co., Michigan.

At the time of Lucy's death, in 1966, Harold was living in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Harold was married, I believe his wife's name was Geraldine, they have 3 children. They also must have lived in the Breedsville, MKichigan area, as they were members of the Breedsville Methodist Church.

Harold would be my mom's cousin, Lucy and Jim were her aunt and uncle. She has not seen Harold since the early 1940's

We are tryhing to make connection for genealogical updates.

Does anyone recovnize this family???

thanks in advance

Karen Jenter
Washtenaw Co., Michigan
Emma died Sept 21 1906. She gave birth to Carl R Haglund on September 1 1906. Carl died in 1970 and is buried in Pinecrest cemetery. Index shows Iosco Gazzette had notice of both marriage and death. If anyone has birth certificate for Carl or death certificate or obit for Emma would appricate information. Emma was the daughter of Otto Haglund.

HAROLD BROWN, CHILD, DROWNING DEATH BETWEEN 1884 AND 1894?

I'm trying to identify a child of Sarah & John Brown, Harold Brown, that evidently drowned, possibly trying to cross the AuSable River, between 1884 and 1894. We have NO proof of his existence. Can't find his birth record in Iosco (yet), nor any evidence (yet) that he drowned as above. He IS buried (we believe) in the AuSable Cemetery, but there are SO few records for that cemetery, it's only because his sister went there to visit his grave in the 1960's. That's how we found out he existed! He had sisters Margaret, Mary and Jenny. Margaret born 1882 in Iosco (we think), Mary & Jenny born in Canada. He may have been born in Canada, and we're not even sure of his birth or death years. 1894 Iosco census listed 4 children, 3 alive. So, he died before that census. WE NEED HELP. I'm in Utah, and believe that the only possible records of his life may be there in Iosco county. A 1990 census listed his family there: Murcdock Mclean (gfather), Sarah Bradshaw (remarried mother), James Bradshaw (brother to a local photographer at that time), sisters Margaret, Mary and Jenny. The Brown family lived in Onaway for a short time. Sarah divorced John Brown in 1898 and remarried in 1899. Can anyone help me at all?

I'm looking for information on my 2X, 3X, 4X Great Grandparents. Here is what I need if any one could help me to fill in the pieces.

My 4X Great Grandparents were Philip & Olive Davis. He was born about 1805 in Avon, NY. Does any one have an exact birthday? She was born about 1811(?) in Vermont. If any one would have the birth dates and where in Vermont Olive was born. What her parents names are.
Where in NY or Vermont where they married and when?
When and where in Michigan did they die?
My 3X Great Grandparents were Robert Davis and Hannah Jane Bentley. Robert was Philip & Olive's son, but when and where in NY was Robert born? The nearest I can figure is that he was born in 1832 and he died somewhere in Michigan, but where and when I don't know. He is not the Robert Davis that died in 1899. Hannah Jane Bentley was born in Canada in or around 1840, but where and who are her parents?
When and where did Robert and Hannah marry?
I see Hannah was still alive on the 1880 census in Michigan, but no longer married to Robert. When and where were they divorced? He's shown as remarried on the 1880 census. Cannot seem to locate where and when either of them died, and I would like to know.
Their son, Millard Cliffton Davis was married to Elizabeth McInnis in 1878 in Grant County, Michigan. Elizabeth died on March 25, 1910 in Tawas, but where she is buried is a mystery I'd like solved. She was born in Canada and from hearsay it was on July 11, 1858, but where and who are her parents?
My Grandmother, Bertha was their daughter.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciate.
Thank you. Please email information to Elaine Young at email: jlemyoung@yahoo.com.
I hope I am in the right county here. I am hoping that someone out there may be able to get some photos of some gravestones for me. these gravestones are in Memory gardens cemetary Tawas City Michigan. Last names are McArdle (McCardell or McCardle) and Low(e) They all lived along the Hemlock Road near Tawas City around the 1870's to 1880's. If someone can be kind enough to do this for me and e-mail them to me it would be much appreciated. I will give more particulars of first names later. Also would like to see if there are others with last name there as well to see if they would be of the same family. This is a large family of siblings who came from Ontario Canada to settle along the Hemlock road. Farm in the summer and Log in the winter

photograph from OLDFIELD studio, East Tawas

Can anyone tell me anything about this circa 1890 photograph from the T.M. Oldfield studio in East Tawas. I always imagined it might show my great-great grandfather, William MILLEN (1844-1910), and his brother, Thomas Millen OLDFIELD – perhaps the owner of the studio. In reality, I know nothing about the subjects of the photo nor can I find anything about the studio. For that matter, I don't really know for certain the relationship between William and Thomas. William MILLEN died in New Hampshire in 1910. His obituary lists a brother, Thomas OLDFIELD, then of Minneapolis, and two married sisters living in Michigan, who, through backtracking, I can determine were OLDFIELDs also. I don't know if William changed his surname, if he was a half-sibling, or what. Any help out there?

I'm trying to find more info on Marion Kuclo, better known in Garden City as the Green Witch Gundella. My mother told me often, all my life, that I was related to Marion, but I never asked how. Now that I'm 'into' genealogy, I'm curious as to how. I've asked a cousin whose father was my mother's brother, and she was told the same story, so the connection may be the Meddaugh family. I have seen that Marion's obit was listed in Iosco county, and the Meddaughs used to live there, so that may be another connection. Anyone know her maiden name or who her parents were, or where born?

I have found 5 hand-written letters from Edna Otis to my Grandmother, Ethel McGuire Kelly. The letters are not dated, but in reading, I surmise they were written in the mid 1950's. She writes of owning an antique shop, working at the newspaper, writing a history of the county that was placed in the cornerstone of the new courthouse and that she was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans. She and my Grandma were childhood friends. Are there any family members or friends who would be interested in seeing these letters?

Seeking info. on Mrs. Walter ( Martha) Johnson. She was last known to be in Oscoda in 1981, but has probably passed away by now. She had brothers Edward Eick, of Metamora, Conrad Eick, who died in accident in Detoit in 1941, Walter of Detroit, and Richard, last known location in 1920 in Macomb County. Sisters were Mrs. V.C. (Ann) Arendt, Mrs. (Ida) Heck and Mrs. ( Art) Hall. Would like to locate any descendants of these people related to my grandfather Edward Eick. Have posted many places, but little luck other than finding details and obit about Conrad's death. Thanks!

Ezra A Armstrong b: 28 Dec 1846 in Uniontown, Fayette, PA d: 16 Jul 1939 in Hale, Iosco, MI
------ +Mary E Slick b: Abt. 1849 in LaSalle, MI m: 1 Dec 1869 in Monroe, MI

This is the brother of my great grandfather, John Yarger Armstrong. Family tradition says he was a woodworker. Our family owns a multileaf black walnut table that my personal speculation says that Ezra may have made. Forty years ago a table restorer said the table dated from the Civll War era. Ezra wrote letters to my grandfather in Texas into the 1930's. I know of no children of this couple, but my sister has in her possession a letter that mentioned that Ezra was "being cared for by a woman named Edna Shattuck in her home". Does anyone know further of Ezra, Mary, or Edna?
Need death and land record look-up for Nehemiah Lovejoy

Nehemiah Lovejoy was born 14 April 1809 Sharon, Vermont, son of Nehemiah Lovejoy and Sarah "Sally" (Marshall) Piper [Sarah died in Candia, NH]

Nehemiah was married first to a Parmelia (last name unknown), she died when her daughter was an infant.
Believe her daughter is Sarah Mahalia Lovejoy born 12 Aug 1838 Sharon, VT (may have died young)
Nehemiah married 2nd to Emeline Gilkey at Strafford, VT, they were divorced in 1844. They had a daughter, Lucy (my gg-grandmother) born 9 June 1840 Sharon, VT

In a letter to Emeline, dated March 22, 1847, her sister, Fatima reports "The news from Michigan is that Miah Lovejoy is just gone of consumption."

I believe he had a farm in Iosco County, Michigan, but don't know what town. This may be recorded in the "Tract Book of Iosco Co, MI as an early land owner 1841-96" I suspect he was in Michigan sometime between 1844 and 1847.

Would like info from his death record, any marriage or children, probate records, or land records from Iosco Co, MI

Thank you....
