Posted: 12 Apr 2013 9:00PM GMT
Classification: Query
Surnames: Clark, Clarke, Hollins, Hullins, Darrow
I am researching my 2nd Great Grandfather James Clark(e) and his family. Here are the things about him that I am nearly certain of:

James (Franklin?) Clark
born June 25, 1845 in Michigan
died Dec 13, 1899 in Alabama. (buried in Limestone Co., ALA.
Father was from New York (from census records)
Mother was from Michigan (from census records)

Married

Mary Lorene(?) Hollins(?) or Hullins(?)
born about 1851 in New York
died after 1880 where unknown (assumption based on birth of last child.
Father was from New York or New Jersey (from census records)
Mother was from New York (from census records)

Children:
-Charles (?) (son)
born 1875 in Kansas
died ?
-Henry Norman (my great grandfather)
born Aug. 23, 1876 in Kansas
died Nov. 15, 1932 in Lubbock, Texas area
-Ethel Sargent (son)
born Aug. 17, 1878 in Kansas
died Aug. 05, 1960 in Limestone Co., ALA.
-Floy Lorene (daughter)
born Oct. 20, 1880 in Missouri
died Dec. 04, 1953 in Etowah Co., ALA.

Because there are so many Clark(e)s and myself not knowing a whole lot about this family beyond my great grandfather I am having a lot of trouble making any progress (might also have something to do with my experience level). I have found a few records here on Ancestry.com that I feel are solid leads. Here they are, hopefully someone out there is able to help a little...:

In 1850 there is a US Census record documenting a James F. Clarke (age 5) living in Leslie, Ingham Co. Michigan in the home of:

Quintus Darrow (born abt 1850 in New York)
(My research has led me to think he may be Quartus Darrow)
and
Lucy Darrow (born abt 1824 in Vermont)

Also, a US census record from 1870 documents a
James and wife Mary living in Leslie, Ingham Co. Michigan
with an Emily Hollins (born abt 1856 in New York)

Please if you have any information about any of these folks. Even if the info. that you have eliminates these possibilities, it will be helpful in my research.

Thanks
