The Rev. Fr Alexander Wollny pastor of St. Joseph's parish, linguist and scholar, was summoned at an early hour Thursday morning in Rochester Minn. where he
submitted to an
operation Monday.Fr. Wollny was accompanied to Rochester by Judge Francis Allegretti of Chicago who remained with him throughout his operation and illness.
The Rev. Wollny was born in Zalenze upper Silesia July 7, 1875. He was ordained at Anagni in the province of Rome, Italy June ,1899 by the Bishop the baron
Antonio Sardi and was engaged in parish work in his native Silesia until a time when he decided to devote his calling in America. He received his classical
education in his native country
and his education in philosophy and theology in Rome.
