Matron dead at 87 Allouez
Mrs Emma Korby Bekkala 87 , a resident of Allouez for 59 years, died Wed. night at her home following a long illness. She had been ailing for several years and her condition had been critical for the past two weeks.
Mrs Bekkala was born in Sweden and came to the Copper County 63 years ago.
Surviving are three daughters and seven sons. Mrs Norman Nordstrom of Mohawk. Mrs George Nordstrom of Allouez, Mrs John Anderson of Detroit, Arvid of Calumet, John of Copper city, William of Allouez, and James , Frank , Walter and Arthur at home. A sister Mrs Caroline Peterson of Eveleth Minn. 36 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs Blanksvard Dies Yesterday. Greenland
Mrs Hilma Blanksvard, 67, died Wed. afternoon at the family home following a long illness.
Mrs Blanksvard was born Feb. 12, 1887 in Finland. She came to America about 50 years ago and was married to Charles Blanksvard at Mass in 1906. The family returned to Sweden and came bakc to Greenland 38 years agon. Mr Blanksvard died in 1919.
Surviving are five children, William, Walter , Victor and Miss Viola of Greenland, and Mrs Arne Raisanen of Detroit and ten grandchildren
The body is at the Allen Cane Funeral home in Ontonagon and will be taken to St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran church in Mass on Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1;30 pm with the Rev. W. Ylonen officiating. Entombment will be in the Greenland cemetery.
(in the 1930 census, Hilma states that she first emig. in 1905 and two eldest kids Walter and Fanny born Sweden in 1917. Victor was born in Michigan.)

This just might be the help I need on Blanksvard, together with the notes I have, I just might be able to come up with some thing.
You have renewed my interest in searching Emma Kristiina's family, for I was hitting so many dead ends that I had just put it aside.
