I am seeking information concerning descendants of
my Great Great Uncle Alexander Murphy, who moved to Lee-
lanau County in 1884. He has descendants who live in Traverse City. His daughter Mary married Joseph
Allgaier. Her daughter Stella married Frank Rusch, and
her daughter Alvina married Joseph Nieman. I have some
information, but would be grateful for anything further.
Alexander's son John married Emma Barth and they
had two children Alexander and Lorraine. Lorraine married
James Thorpe in 1938. They moved to California and have
both died recently. I am wondering if they had a family. I
think the younger Alexander may have also moved to
California.
John Murphy, a nephew of my GGuncle Alexander also settled in Traverse City. He had a daughter named Ber-
nice who may have married. She disappears from the
census after 1910.
Many thanks for the help I have already received through the County Marriage and Death Index. All further information will be deeply appreciated. If possible, please email me
privately.
