I am researching the Joseph Cooper family in Old Mission area of Grand Traverse. After his death in 1899, his widow married Joseph Hinkley and divorced him in a year. She (Mary Anna Warning/Warner) married 7 Oct 1900 in Grand Traverse - John Chapman, son of John Chapman and Margaret Tuite. John Chapman died 16 July 1920. These dates per widow's Civil War pension papers for Joseph Cooper from the National Archive. In looking for the marriage record for John and Anna, I also found the record of John Chapman's marriage to Minnie Freeman - his parents names are the same as marriage record to Anna Warner Cooper. Minnie's parents names listed as George Freeman and Emma Brown. In all (4) of the marriage records that I have found for Minnie Freeman, only one does not list her parents names. That is the marriage to George Lenderbeck 29 Dec 1908 Lansing, Ingham Co MI. The other 3 marriages - Horace Hollis 26 Feb 1890 Grand Traverse; John Chapman 22 Mar 1898 Traverse and William McMillan 9 Aug 1913, Grand Rapids, Kent Co MI all list her parents as George Freeman and Emma Brown. Hope this helps, but probably only confuses the issue
