They gave me another location for Bernard but was unable to locate a headstone and none of the headstones around that area had dates back in the 30's. I will call and talk with the caretaker again. Please contact me at des3109@aol.com and give me your email and I will send these photos to you and give you some additional information.
Regards,
Dee

Hello,
Are you still researching the Hubbard family? If so I wanted to pass on some information. Sarah Dibble Hubbard was an aunt of my 3g grandfather, Aaron J Crossman Jr. I think she was his mother's, Lydia Dibble Crossman, sister. I have Aaron's civil war diary and in it he mentions Aunt Sarah Hubbard. An entry on Monday, November 7, 1864 says "Great excitement about voting. This is a very pleasant day. Wrote a letter to Aunt Sarah Hubbard." This was the day before Abraham Lincoln's re-election and the soldiers in the field were discussing their support for him.
findagrave.com also shows a Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris, Genesee County. The map doesn't give an address but shows it off of St Mary's St. which is off Saginaw Rd.

In case you are unaware, findagrave.com is a great source for finding and/or setting up virtual cemeteries of family members. You can request photos of gravestones from their vast network of volunteers. There is no cost to setup or request photos.

I know that he was a boxer, my grandmoter was raised by him. Her mother had walked out and didn't ever hear from her. I will have to check my files to see exact dates and places.

Christina

Sorry don't have an address, did it give the address on that googled page I sent? I don't remember now. The Dairy set back from the road facing Orchard St. on the south east corner with Jefferson. The address would probably be listed as Orchard. As I recall it had two driveways, one off Jefferson and one off Orchard. The dairy would have been just 1/2 block south of the Free Methodist church. My grandparents lived kitty corner from the dairy at the north west corner of Jefferson and Orchard. Try looking at a map of the city of Otisville and this should make more sense.

Sadly, that's pretty much exactly what it means. The new City Cemetery is a largely abandoned field just south of the corner of Pierson and Pasadena. Technically, it's only open to the public on Memorial Day, but nobody hassles you if you're there to pay respects to an ancestor, but good luck finding said ancestor. Many of the graves are unmarked, and many of those which are marked feature half-sunken, illegible markers. One of the true shames of Genesee County hostory and preservation.

This inquiry came about when I was approached by Mr. Bill Green (no relation) of Tupelo, who had apparently went to school with Marie and maybe dated her before he went into the Navy. He had lost contact with her and after all these years wondered what had ever happened to her. He had contacted my Mother, who told him that I did geneological research and that if anyone could find her, I could. I did find her in L.A. and called her and told her about Bill. She was amazed that he would care after all these years, but agreed to talk to him by telephone, and did. I understand the call was cordial and friendly. Happy ending!

Hi; sorry it's taken me so long to respond.
I don't remember now where I found the death/burial of "Mrs. Roy Wellington, Feb. 21, 1904". I thought sure I would have made a notation in my files about it, but I didn't. I thought it was on the Muskegon County Clerk's site, but I just checked it and it isn't there. I looked in my Muskegon County cemetery books, and couldn't find it there, either. However, I do remember trying to get a copy of the death certificate, and Muskegon county couldn't find one.
Sorry about being so lame; I really thought--even back in the days when I didn't cite sources very well--that I would have made a notation on this, since it was a "hypothosis". I even checked my paper file, and all I have is a question mark next to the date. Darn it!

Well, the genealogical gods must have all been lined up just right. Today someone else lead me to a site I didn't know about called Seeking Michigan. Of the data available, there are images of death certificates from 1897-1920. After playing around with a lot of other lines, I thought about putting in Wellington to see if I could find one for Delia. Lo and behold, I found it! Her full name was Matilda Barbara. She was born March 1, 1884, and died February 9, 1904 in Fremont, Michigan. The person providing the information is Leroy Wellington! So we have a positive match. The place of burial is Fremont.

Christine,

Sorry for the late response - I've changed email addresses and just happened across this during a bout of insomnia...LOL!

Anyway, it's been a while since I've done anything on the family tree...too busy being "retired"...but I'd be happy to exchange what I have. Unfortunately, that may be limited since I recently had a HD crash on me and lost a lot of my files. I should have some hard copies around that I can dig up and recover at least some of the data.

One thing I have never found is when the Hendersons came to the US, and did Patrick come with them? I have an approximate date of his arrival - if memory serves it was in the Spring of 1848 or so, arriving in NYC, but no ship manifest I've looked at shows him during that time. I did find that Pat had been born in Antrim Co, Northern Ireland, I think around 1825.

These Eckleys had the farm in Grand Blanc on Lapeer Rd.

Is the the same family? I couldn't find a Grace Eckley, but she might be descended from one of Earl's siblings.

Do you have more information? I will share what I have if you are interested.

Thanks Thomas

Many Thanks for your response. I am only seeking a digital copy of the death/burial record for Darius. I have all other records for him.

Yesterday I found his death listed on the Flint Genealogical Society web page:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mifgs/rbindex/powe-pris_1....

The Genesee County Death Index lists him as:
Surname: PRINGLE
First Name: DIRAS
Sex: M
Died: 04/17/1929
Volume 9
Page: 166
Record: 5

Unfortunately, this is only an index and I am seeking a local volunteer with access to the Flint death records who will obtain a digital copy of it for me. Hopefully, his death record will include his burial information. If not, I am seeking a local volunteer who has access to archived newspaper obituaries from Flint, Michigan who can research and obtain a digital copy of his obituary or death notice for me.

Kind Regards
Patti Molenaar
Hello I need help finding a death notice or death record for one of my direct Ancestors who died and is buried in Flint, Genesse Co. Mich.

His full name is Darius Spencer Pringle. He was born Dec 1842 in North Gwillimbury Township, York, Ontario, Canada and is believed to have died and been buried in Flint, Michigan. Is there anyone in Flint, Michigan who would volunteer to look for his death record and/or death notice?
I have extensive records, for Darius and am only missing a source to verify his death.

I live overseas and am therefore quite limited in searching for this information myself. I have utilized all on-line resources available to me without success. Help from a family history enthusiast with access and knowledge for searching in local resources for his death information is my only hope.

Kind Regards
Patti Molenaar
I believe he was married to my gg grandmother. I have a newspaper article which was sent to me by robandmitzi@tc3net.com. It was an obituary noting Roswell Newell Hilton died 1/25/?. It says he was married to Roxy A Phillips of Geneseo county and had five children. She died 1/22/1891. Afterward he met my gg grandmother Phoebe (Durfy) Stevens and on 4/14/1892 they were married. He had two brothers George W. and William of Flint and a sister Mrs. Susan Cristman of Mont Calm.

After his death Pheobe moved to Buffalo, NY with her two daughters Lillian and Cora. I am currently thying to find when Phoebe died and where she is buried and what happened to Cora. The last I have is she married Ernest Salphine in 1910 but in New York State but she dropped off the face of the earth after that. If this helps you let me know.
