I am replying to an older post. I found the tree that you did on family tree maker but I was not successful withe email address that was posted.
I have a number of old photos that I am not able to identify. There are a least of few amont them that are identified and they are Mulvanys. I would be happy to share and see if any more can be identified by you or someone else. The photos are probably late 1800 and/or early 1900.
I have the 2 Ogden obituaries you are after. However I find
this rootsweb message board with all its signins and passwords and especially all its limitations as to file
extensions incredibly unhelpful.

Just communicate directly to me at glivings@willard.lib.mi.us
and I'll send them immediately.

George

Hi Cheryl,
My name is Mike and my brother Dan and I are continually working on our family tree to fill in as many blanks as we can. Please send your pictures of the Mulvan(e)y family to me at mulvaneymike@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you!
Mike

Hi Ruth -
Per the previous posting, the library can be contacted through a link on their web site at www.willard.lib.mi.us

I see George posted a response on the 14th in the evening, so it may take a couple of days within the course of his normal duties (and possible days off) to find the obituary and reply. There is always the possibility that an obituary does not exist for this person.

Good luck in your research!

I was never able to find an address and phone number. I live in Jackson Co., MI and I don't drive so I'd want permission to go on the land before asking someone to drive me there. The aerial shot is James Mulvany's farm, where Zimrhoda is buried. Now owned by James Elmer Mulvany. Researcher, Mike Mulvaney gave permission to use his picture. There are several trees out their but most are private. I'd post the picture here and see if someone else may have the same.

I am looking to find if Abraham HESTER, born 1830 in PA, was living in Calhoun, MI during the time they took the 1854 State Census. In 1850 he was living in Northumberland, PA and in 1860 he had moved into Homer, Calhoun, MI.

I would really appreciate any help that anyone is willing to give to me as it is in regards to Abraham possibly being my 3rd Great Grandfather, and this is one of my last items to check off my list!

Thanks everyone and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Thank you very much for your reply. I currently have all the info on the Frank Bailey you listed, as he is attached to my family tree. I located an article pertaining to his marriage to Lucy, at which time it was reportd he was the oldest person ever married in Calhoun County, at 84 in 1923.

However the article I recently located states Frank Bailey was the oldest Native at the Reservation and he was 103 years, 10 months, and 16 days when he passed away in 1928.

So either there are two Frank Bailey's in Athens, or there was a huge age jump.

Thanks again!

Laurence S. Booth Washington State Pioneer - Born 1861 Battle Creek, Michigan; Died April 1953 Seattle, Washington

The Seattle Daily Times Sunday, April 5, 1953
L.S. Booth’s Death Another Adieu to Past
(C.T. Conover, who wrote the following obituary of Laurence S. Booth, 92, Seattle pioneer and former title insurance executive, is himself a pioneer and a member of the generation that saw Seattle grow from a wilderness settlement to a thriving city.)

The death Friday of Laurence S. Booth removed almost the last of the generation that saw Seattle through its period of adversity and struggle for existence. He was born at Battle Creek, Michigan, March 27, 1861 and came to the Northwest with his parents at the age of 2. Here he lived for 90 years.

He was a rare soul, endeared to us of all races and creeds by his sterling character, his tolerance and understanding and his natural gift of friendship. No man exceeded him in his devotion to the city and to all the worthy things in life.

Mr. Booth was poised, quiet, unassuming and utterly selfless in his loyalty to the advancement and well-being of his world. He was the most even tempered man I ever knew and one of the most lovable, with a sunny nature, a sense of humor and a rare gift of common sense. He never engaged in strife, but won through by reason and compromise and a natural gift of diplomacy.

His passing is virtually the final phase of an historic era in Seattle’s life and his going leaves a vacancy in the ranks of his friends that can never be filled.

Attended State University
Mr. Booth attended the University of Washington. At the age of 26 he became a partner in the pioneer abstract firm of Booth & Briscoe, which in the course of the years became successively the Booth & Hanford Abstract Co., the Booth Whitlesey Hanford Abstract Co. and finally the Washington Title Insurance Co., with statewide subsidiary companies. He had been Chairman of the Board of the latter company.

Mr. Booth was a trustee of the Seattle Community Fund from its inception, Deputy Auditor of King County from 1880 to 1887, a member of the National Association of Real Estate Boards, the Seattle Real Estate Board, the Northwest Real Estate Board, the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the Municipal League, a former President of the National Association of Title Men and a former Chairman of the State Taxation Committee of the National Association of Real Estate Boards.

Athlete and Guardsman
He was a member of the first amateur baseball organization in Seattle, the first athletic association and the first association for protection of game, the old Volunteer Fire Department and the National Guard, in which he was a Commander of Company B of the 1st Regiment.

Mr. Booth was a past President of the Pioneer Association of Washington State and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was active in scouting.

To no man are we more indebted for the $40 million tax limitation than to Mr. Booth. He was one of the two or three men who first purposed the measure and through the years, carried it through and maintained it against all opposition.

Wife of Pioneer Family
He is survived by his wife, who was Nell M. Crawford of the pioneer Crawford family and by two sons and two daughters: Edwin S. Booth of 1943 14th North; Mrs. Elmer T. Foss, wife of Colonel Foss, United States Army (Retired), at whose home in Los Altos, California, Mr. Booth died; Mrs. Harry A. Buckley of Urbana, Illinois, wife of Colonel Buckley, Professor of Military Science and Tactics at the University of Illinois and Laurence S. Booth Jr. of 728 North Broadway.

Rosary for Mr. Booth will be said at 8 o’clock Wednesday night at the Bonney Watson Chapel. Requiem Mass will be said at 10 o’clock Thursday forenoon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary.

*****
The Seattle Daily Times Wednesday, April 8, 1953
Booth, Laurence S. April 3. Husband of Nelle M. Booth, father of Elizabeth B. Buckley, Mrs. Elmer T. Foss, Edwin S. and Laurence S. Booth Jr. Also survived by fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Rosary at Bonney Watson Co. this evening, Wednesday, 8PM. Requiem Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Harvard North and East Lynn, Thursday, 10AM. Interment Calvary. Relatives request please omit flowers.

*****
The Seattle Daily News Wednesday, April 8, 1953
Laurence S. Booth Funeral
Requiem Mass for Laurence S. Booth, 92, Chairman of the Board of the Washington Title Insurance Co., will be said at 10 o’clock tomorrow in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in Calvary.

Mr. Booth died Friday in Los Altos, California. He was a pioneer of this area.

Active pallbearers will be Dr. Crawford Warren, Herbert B. Shannon, John S. Kelly, Robert M. Hurlbut, Paul D. Clyde and Norton Clapp.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank R. Arkins, Cebert Baillardgeon, C.T. Conover, Guy B. Falconer, T.J. Ivers, Charles Kinnear, Frank C. Jackson, C.K.
Mr. Watson it is so very kind of you to post your message and try to find his family. I will look for an obituary in our local paper and perhaps we will find a descendant.

My name is Stanley Watson and I live in the Netherlands.
I collect WW2 items and bought a WW2 citation for John P. Mackey. He died in Italy and was awarded a air medal. Now I try to find any relatives of him so i can hand it over. To honour him, it must not be hanging on my wall. It's framed and I have no idea how this special document came into other hands than his family. He was from Calhoun Count and he is on the Honour Roll presented by the Battle Creek Enquirer in 1946.
He was was at the 523rd FS and 27th FG and flew a P47D.
Hello, May I please know your grandmother's name? I don't have access to any employee records but my grandma was a nurse, a Seventh Day Adventist, and a foster child of Dr. Kellogg. Her two sisters were adopted by him. Much of the family worked at the Sans and I am wondering if the name would sound familiar to me? It is easier for me if you contact me directly at ross3324@comcast.net
Battle Creek Sanitarium - Early Employees?

My grandmother was a Seventh-Day Adventist Danish immigrant who came to Battle Creek as a nurse or student nurse in the early 1920s. I am interested to know if there are any employment records kept from those early days.
Would you possibly mean Jeanette Dean who was a college professor and would have been teaching about that time. She came from Girard, and I think she taught at Albion College. Madge Ladd rjmml123@aol.com

Thank you so much for the obit, but it is for Royal E Donovan NOT Donovan E Royal
Since both names can be given names or surnames, does make the searching tricky
Dianna

I would like to know if someone knows of his cemetery, obit or a more recent address; FamilySearch has a birth record for a child, but nothing on the adult I am searching for.
