I just replied to one of your other postings, but thought I might step in here, too. I was struck by your comment that one of Lucille's sons killed a black man. I wonder if the story got a little twisted. Fact is, Lucille's second husband,
Avery (or Every)
Davis, was a black man. And a note written by her mother, Pearl, says her first husband, Russell
Sinclair, "got shot in his leg Oct. 25, 1930. Was taken to hospital at Owosso." No explanation as to how he got shot. And no indication that
Avery, whom Lucille married later, was ever shot. Makes you wonder, who shot whom?
