The names of some relatives living in that area at that time are Treffle Homier, Rose Delima Homier, Lorienne Homier, Joseph Homier and there was a name change during that time . I am sure there were children born there also by the name Roy Omyer and Willard O'Myer. But William J. Marcil nevered changed his name although my grandparents did not remain in that area they returned to Sault Ste marie Ontario. I hope this helps

I have looked in a couple of the Pequaming resources and books I have, I will look through the rest,

Most of the Pequaming history revolves around the Finnish population and residents.

My brother in-law is named Kurt O'Myer, after talking to him this is the information I have...His father Lyle O'Myer was born in Whitefish Montana in 1931 to Willard and Isabel O'myer. His father Willard was born somewhere in Michigan. Willards father was Frank O'Myer...brothers are Ely and Treply. At sometime they changed there name to O'Myer from Homier...the story is that they wanted to Americanize the name. Kurt has been told that his father is French-Canadian. Does this help? If you have more information I would appreciate a return. Thank you.

We have a Doreen Zagar at 5 Katherine St. L'Anse, Mich. 49946 and phone # is 1-906-524-7564.

She was a Homier. Maybe she can help you. She went to school with my husband's sister Barbara. Hope this helps.
