Just wondered if anyone out there knew of a cite that listed the individual Loggers names. I have been hunting for a Great Grandfather for a long time now. His name is Frank E. Bell born sept. 1876 in Michigan and the only clue I have about him is that he was a logger. Thanks for any help or clues as to how to find him. Have not found him on any census since 1900. Thanks, Jackie

Hi Jackie,
We have our monthly Baraga County Museum meeting tonight.,Monday July 31. I will check our files for all the logging camps and birth and death records.
Our website is www.baragacountyhistoricalmuseum.com
if you want to check our site. It is excellent.
Good Luck,

Hi, I did go through the birth, death and marriage books that were discarded from the Court House and given to us. 1875 to around 1962. I found no Bell's.
I did not get into the Bendry ledgers as the handwriting is very delicate and there are hundreds of pages to skim through. We don't let these things leave the museum. Maybe I can look this fall through them. He dealt with sailing, logging, loans, store goods, etc.
The ledgers are a story in themselves.
Hope your hunt is a good one.
Barb
