Is there anyone who might know the lineage of Lorenzo Dow McPherson? My father was Lewis Woodrow McPherson, born to Hiram Dowe McPherson and Ena Ruth Hosler in 1918. Hiram Dowe McPherson was born to Lorenzo Dow McPherson and Emma L. Sweet in Aug. 9, 1883. Possible Lorenzo's parents were John McPherson and Eunice Chadwick. I'm kind of stopped there for the moment. On Emma L. Sweet's side i can trace a lineage to 1303 in England thruogh her mother Harriett Melinda Chaffee. Emma's father, Hiram R. Sweet was a Civil War veteran ith Co. E, 110th Inf. out of the town of Schroeppel, Oswego Co., N.Y.

Yours is a remarkable family; Lorenzo was 58 when he married Emma.

County death records in 1897 identifies his father as "John H." but do not name his mother. The parents were from NY.

They also indicate that his first wife, Orpha, died in Clay co., Fla 2-25-1878

Note: There is a John H. McPherson in Antrim co. but he's not related.

I have a fair amount of information on descendants of Lorenzo but nothing on his parents.

I find Lorenzo Dow McPherson to be quite common. My mother-in-laws father was Lorenzo Dow McPherson born in Ill. , died in Wis. His father was Charles Pettis McPherson born in Canada. He married Phidelia Cheney and moved to Ill. and later to Wis where he died in 1877.

Lorenzo was my gr gr grandfather. from his first wife Orpha.

The name should be Joan Gaston. My great-grandfather was John Henry McPherson, father of Guy L. McPherson (my grandfather), and my father's name is Perry I. McPherson.

Lorenzo Dow McPherson was my GGGG Grandfather though his son, Peter McPherson (mother - Orpha). I don't have any info on his ancestors, but I do have some on his descendants through Peter.
