Out of curiosity, on my birthday, I'd like to know if anyone from the Alpena area remembers my father, Harlo Herron. He was mayor of Alpena for about 12 years, and a businessman from the very early 1930's until his death in 1965. He belonged to the Rotary Club, the Congregational Church and other boards and organizations. I'd like to see if anyone has memories of him that I never knew about, and add them to my collection of "Harlo things" so that I can give that to my children. If you do have memories, please answer and tell me your stories so I can also share those with family. I was so young when he had the John Deere business, I never really knew much about it, except I loved to roam all around the store, bouncing on the tractor seats, playing in the seeds and letting them run through my little fingers, and wishing I had all the china eggs that were there on display. Please help me to add more to my dad's story, if you can!
