I have a clipping of the death of Mrs. Samuel Willis, which I've checked out in the 1900 census. Samuel G. Willis, born in MI, father born England, mother born Canada English, lived at 211 Minor Street in Alpena, MI. His wife, Annie B., born 7 July 1868, died 27 Jan 1905. They had a daughter Mary E., born June 1887. Annie was born in MI, her father born in Pennsylvania and mother born Canada English.
Obit: The funeral of Mrs. Samuel Willis was held from the home of the family (perhaps her parents), 811 Ninth Street, Sunday afternoon. Rev. George N. Kennedy of the Methodist church conducted the funeral services. The deceased leaves a husband and two children. She was a member of the Prudent Patricians of Pompeii and the order attended in a body.
Has anyone any idea who she was? I have the clipping stashed away somewhere, but was curious as to why my family members would have saved this clipping.
