This is all very confusing but stay with me here LOL.
My grandfather was Harry Bates from Lapeer county. His wife (my grandmother) was Bertha Coulter from Lapeer county. She however was adopted. I had my DNA done and assumed that the Laforge/Yax line was my unknown line from my grandmother. For those that have Bates/Laforge line can anyone tell me how Fred Bates may be connected to the Lapeer County Bates? My great grandfather was Eliacum Bates he married Frances Harmon from Canada.
