After serving in 7th Cavalry as Sergeant, I think John may have married again in 1885 when he married Katharina Lampman and had 11 children with her in Kansas and North Dakota. Only 2 died in infancy.
With regard to his father Joseph,
1880 US Census - Second Street Alpena District 6 Page 27, Michigan Joseph BIDDLECOMB White male Servant, Widow Age: 60 Occupation: Laborer
He is living in the home of Arthur WILKINSON (Physician) as a servant.
Census says he's a widower even though his wife is alive on the Isle of Wight with all the children.

Son Joseph marriage in Portsea, Hampshire in 1887 refers to him as Shpwright and does not say deceased.
But Eliza his wife remarries in 1890.

I have lots of information on this family but I have nothing on what happened to Minnie Belle Hawley and absolute confirmation that Minnie married the same John Biddlecombe that's in my tree
