Passed away, Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Kalamazoo. Eleanor was born February 9, 1922 in Maidsville, WV, the daughter of Stephen and Rose (Tackage) Bildershein. She served during WWII in the Army Nurses Corps. On July 18, 1945 in Indianapolis, she married Roy Cassette, who preceded her in death on May 28, 1973. After their marriage, they moved to Lake Linden, MI and then to Marquette in 1950 where she worked in Pediatrics at the hospital and to Ionia in 1964 where she worked in the E.R. until she retired in 1987. Eleanor was active in her church, she taught RCIA and was a Eucharistic minister in St. Peter and Paul's Parish in Ionia and was a parishioner at St. Margaret's. She is survived by her children, Ann Avery of Cedar, MI, Rosemary Jackson of Huntington Woods, MI, Stephen (Vallie) Cassette of Richmond IN, Aaron Cassette of Tampa, FL; her grandchildren, Scott, Joel, Natalie, Nicolas, and Lydia; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Margaret. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Frank and a sister, Mary. Friends may meet with the family Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Otsego, MI, Rev. Fr. Donald P. Klingler officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Catholic Church or to Cares of Kalamazoo. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ionia, MI.
