Yes , i've been looking at Birth and death records for William Henry Tituses. There appears to be two in Massachusetts at the same time, one who appears to have been born on long island in 1804 and moved to Mass, the other who was born in 1801 or 1802 in Rehoboth. I haven't found marriage records for either that confirm that i have the right William. i have traced both lineages and they appear to descend from a common ancestor. To make matters even more confusing, one of the censuses( I think the 1880 census) says that WHT's parents were born in Scotland, while none of the other censuses say that.

When "Lizzie" C. Moyes married James M. Shepherd in Chelsea on Feb 6, 1882, she is listed as age 24, and having been born in Boston, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (no maiden name given).
In the Death Register for Chelsea, MA for the year 1873, there is a listing for Margaret C. Moyes, widow, age 60, born in Scotland, daughter of Robert (born in Scotland) and Margaret (born in Ireland). No last names given. Margaret C. Moyes died of typhoid fever.
There is a Robert Moyes, age 59 who arrived in Boston from England on 8 April 1870, on the SS City of Baltimore.
He is accompanied by Mary Moyes, age 57. I don't know whether this is the correct couple. No mention of Elizabeth.
I'll see if I can find anything else that may be helpful.
MR

I have a Kimball in My family tree, Sarah Kimball. She was the daughter of Richard Kimball I, B. 1595 in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England and Ursula Scott. Both were among the first settlers Of Massachusetts Bay, and came over I believe in 1635. Your Kimball in New York could descend from one of the male sons of this line, since many New Englanders settled in Western new York and Long Island.

Have you tried contacting the Pawtucket vital records clerk's office? His death record may give you his parents names.
In case you don't know in 1850 census the family is in Pawtucket Ma.
1860- Pawtucket Ma. Incorrectly indexed as William H. Gehrs
1870-Pawtucket (now part of RI
1880-kind of odd. William is living with son and Almira is a widow living at the poor farm. Perhaps William died in 1880.

Yes, that's him. I'm looking for William H titus' Parents. i have them listed as Michael Titus(B. 1772) and Alice hicks(b. 1774), although there is a possibility that he is the son of timothy titus(b. 1769) and hannah Bishop of Rehoboth mass. I haven't been able to definitively connect him to either line yet. I've been able to trace almirah fisher's back, but Not his. Both of those lines above descend from a Robert titus, and both lines had sons named william H titus, one born in 1802, and one born in 1804. Haven't been able to connect either.

Hello all! I'm trying to find William Henry Titus' parents and family line. I have two possible lines right now and I can't find which is the right one. The first has him born in 1802 in New York to Michael Titus( b. 1772) and Alice Hicks(b. 1774) of Long island. The second line has him born in Rehoboth, Massachusetts about 1804, to Timothy Titus( b. 1769) and hannah Bishop of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Both lines apparently descend from Robert Titus ( b. 1600 england, d. 1672 huntington, long Island)My William h. Titus married Almira Fisher, B. 1802 in belchertown mass, to Joseph fisher and Submit Lewis. To make matters more confusing, on an 1880 census that lists his son James H. titus, it says william's parents were born ion scotland, though it doesn't say so on any other records. Can anybody help?!

Hi,
Thanks for trying to help me. I saw 2 versions of the 1940 census on Familysearch.org and Ancestry.com..One said Joseph was 38 and one said he was 28. Also, on one record, it just named the children, but on the other, it added another relative living there...Rose Terrone, born ca. 1890. She was erroneously called Joseph's wife at age 50. She was an Italian immigrant. I do know that the Joseph Kimball I am researching married the daughter of Italian immigrants named Bove. The family also says that Joseph Kimball's family line began in a long line of Kimball's in Massachusetts and originally from England.

Another thing, In 1940, Joseph Kimball was living in Brooklyn, Kings, N.Y. In the 1935 N.Y. state census, they were living in Corona, Queens, N.Y. The same Rose Terrone was living with them there also.

I just am having trouble finding the parents and family origins of Joseph Kimball. I think I need a lucky break!
Jean

Joseph Kimball of New York and Mass.

I am searching for information concerning Joseph Kimball, who was born in ca. 1902 in N.Y. or possibly in Mass. In 1935, he was living in Corona, Queens, N.Y., and in 1940, he was living in Brooklyn, N.Y.He married Angeline Bove and their children were: Joseph J. ( born ca. 1935 in N.Y. ), Richard A. ( born ca. 1937 in N.Y.}, and Dennis E. ( born ca. 1939 in N.Y. ). The family says that Joseph Kimball's family originated in Mass., but unfortunately, I don't have a town for them in Mass. I am trying to learn the family origins of Joseph Kimball. Any help at all would be very much appreciated.
Jean Mayo

birth family search, Massachusetts/Quebec/Florida connection
The only info we have been about Tom's (Schiferl) birth family is that his mother was 26 years of age at the time of birth (she would now be about 76+/-), and from a “New England state” (US). Tom's DOB is July 14th, 1962. Research keeps indicating that his birth family/ancestors might have lived in Maine/Massachusetts, probably immigrating from Quebec. 23andme surname matches are Valois, Drisdelle, Michaud, Guest, Mathieu, Gagnon, Cyr, Roy, Pelletier, Dube, Morin, Ouellett/Willet ++. FTDNA YDNA surname matches are Brown, Coleman, Cummins, McCrary/McCreary, Nordin, Robertson, ++. We think Tom's birth mom might have stayed with friends or family in Florida for her pregnancy/birth. Do you have any relatives that you could ask about potential relatives of Tom's?? Maybe anyone with connections, relatives or friends in French Canada, the New England states, and/or Florida??
Tom has tested on FTDNA(kit # 284194), and GEDmatch(kit # M090021).
There are more details posted on Tom's Facebook page (thomas.schiferl.7)
Thank you so much for your help :-) Christine (Tom's wife)

In fact none of them died in June 1979.
Charles died in 1957, Ada in 1970, and Susan in 1974

Looks like Clifford must have bought a plot and decided to have them all moved to one spot.

Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone is taking a trip to the Boston Public Library and would mind doing a lookup???
I have no idea how complicated this is, but I am willing to pay someone for their time.
I spoke with someone at the New England Genealogy Society and he told me that I should search the Manchester Union Leader on Microfilm at the Boston Public Library for the information that I need. However, being in California, it is a bit tough for me ;-)

Here is the information -
I have located some family members buried in Union Cemetery in in Laconia, NH. The odd thing is that three of them are listed as being buried the same day - June 12, 1979.
This makes me think that there may have been some sort of accident (car accident, house fire, other accident...).
I know that they also could simply have been moved here, but the cemetery records do list them all as having a Full Burial.
I have searched, but not come up with much except a Plane Crash in Dalton, NH on 6/3/1979. I would think that this would have at least been mentioned in a paper.

So what I am looking for is
1) Checking this plane crash on the off chance that it was related
2) Checking for any large accidents around this time in the Laconia area and/or
3) Obituaries for these folks.
The names I am looking for are Charles, Ada, and Susan Levack.

I do not have death records, only the cemetery records showing them being buried on 6/12/1979.

Any suggestions welcomed!

Erin

Erin

Here is the link to the Manchester PUB Lib. it says $5.00 for
a copy of something. That is a pretty good deal. You can
write to them and ask them if they have the year 1979 on microfilm.

http://www.manchesternh.gov/website/Research/NHRoom/tabid/82...

I live in the town next to them but have never been there myself.

Lindsey

It just had Anna Faustine Johnson, and all spaces pertaining to father such as name and occupation were left blank.
Looking at his birth record - no father is listed. Searched for a birth record with last name equal to Faustine and only came up with one - Mary b 1891 in New Bedford, one marriage for Mary in 1900 - can't be the same one and one death for an Abram. That was done using the Mass Archives online index. Tried searching for Anna Johnson and Kenneth on the 1920 Census and couldn't find them but did find him with the aunt and uncle. The birth place for her could be wrong - seen that happen. Any more info on her - where did you find her maiden name?

Margaret
Hello my name is Camille Vauclin. I live in Normandy, France. I am a member of an association which called "Les Fleurs de la Mémoire". The association assigned to me two graves of soldiers who served in 30th DI during the WWII. Two months ago thanks to Ancestry and a kind mister I found the family of one soldier (Pfc John Matthew Carroll). Today I would like to find more information about Pvt Emerson S. Symington. I would like to find a photo of him and to contact his family. It is important for me... I have the duty to take care of his grave all my life (the John's grave too). Emerson was born in 1913 in Hamdpen, MA. He had Irish origins. His parents were Joseph S. Symington (1890 in Irland - 1945) and Esther Gray (Gris?) Symington (1889-1936). Emerson was enlisted on 10th November 1942, in Springfield, MA. He served in 30th Di and 120th Infantry Regiment. He had a lot of brothers and sisters : Joseph, William, Evelyn, Ethel, James. Emerson died in Normandy, France on 19 July 1944. If you have infos about Emerson please contact me. Thank you in advance, respectfully Camille Vauclin.

Greetings,

Just a couple of suggestions.

As you have some names and John b 1913 (but in Italy or US?), have you been able to find the family in censuses? If so, then that will give you approximate birth dates.

With a couple of males, you might be able to find some clues via an ancestry search - including obituaries that could name a married sister. The males might also show up in WWII military enlistments/drafts.

Best of luck,

Marsha Stringer
stringer@mstringer.net
