Can someone please tell me why a person would only be granted two acres? My understanding is that each family head (males in the household) was granted 4 acres at a cost of 3 shillings per acre.
Frank T. Cole in his book "Early Genealogies of the Cole Families in America" has stated that on January 23, 1637, William Cole was granted two acres at Mount Wollaston. He has also stated that he believes William was a follower of Reverend John Wheelwright. Is there an on-line list of who was granted how much and on what date the grant was made?
