There's a Web site for Springfield newspapers, but you have to pay to view the papers. Fortunately, you can search for free and see a little of the results.
http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives/?p_product=HA-S...By changing the words I was searching for, I was able to view most of Augusta's obit and see that her mass was held at Holy Name church and burial was in St. Michael's cemetery in Springfield (413) 733-0659. If Patrick is there as well, they can give you his date of death. Hopefully his parents' names will be listed on his death record (I did not find an obit for him in the newspapers).
I tried to find a marriage record for Patrick and Augusta, but had no luck. Hopefully the person who is listed as the informant on Augusta's death record knew the names of her parents (since Patrick died before Augusta, it's possible the informant may not have known who her parents were).
FYI...I found a marriage announcement for James Durkin and Agnes Mary Fallon--are they your great grandparents? For a fee of $9.95, you can view 50 items on the newspaper site. Since it seems you have history in Springfield, that may be something worth doing.
Hope this helps a little.
