Electa Louise (generally known as Louisa) MORRILL was born on 27 July 1831 [from death record etc.], most likely in Franklin or Wrentham, Massachusetts. I'd like to find her parents and birth record. Have not found her birth in the Mass. or town vital records, even with flexible spelling.

Louisa wrote (to her granddaughter) that her parents were Reuben and Julia, but the Reuben she described (son of Peaslee) died in 1826. Louisa also wrote that she had a sister Julia who moved to Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1848 Louisa married Egbert Oswald HIXON. The marriage record lists her parents as Isaac and Julia (RICHARDSON) MORRILL. Isaac and Julia's known children Nathaniel (b. 1811, m. Elizabeth Kidder), Julia Maria (b. 1814, m. James Hutchins), and Eunice Adalaide (b. 1818, m. Alfred Farrington) were much older than Louisa.

Another possible sibling is Lowell (b. ~1830). I haven't found a birth record for him, but in 1850 he lived with Julia Richardson Morrill and her mother. In 1855 (Mass. census) he and Julia R. Morrill were in the next household before Egbert and Louisa. In 1860 he was in the household with Egbert and Louisa. Lowell married Lydia Wilbur and they lived in Rhode Island in 1880.

During the Civil War, Louisa, Egbert, and their four children moved to Cleveland, Ohio. After Egbert's death, Louisa married Samuel HAYNES in 1870. She died in 1909. Census records are consistent with a birth date of 1831 for her.

Possible that Louisa was related to Isaac and Julia in a different way (maybe adoption) or that her parents were someone else entirely. Any info or suggestions welcome!
