John J. O'Connor (b. 1866 in Ireland) & family of Boston

I was wondering if anyone had information on the following family:

John J. O'Connor - b. Dec 1866 in Ireland
wife Mary - b. Nov. 1872 in Ireland
son John Joseph - b. Jun 1897
dau. Mary Ellen - b. 23 Oct. 1899
son James Michael - b. 1 Oct 1902, d. Sep 1968
son Thomas Patrick - b. 1 Jun 1905
son William F. - b. ca. 1908
dau. Margaret T. - b. ca. Sep 1909, d. 4 Nov 1910
Andrew Rodger (or Roger?) - b. 9 Feb 1913, d. 11 Mar 1980

I believe all the children were born in Boston (I have found birth records for all except John, William & Margaret). None of the children's records I have found have the mother's maiden name listed, so I can't pinpoint a marriage record for John & Mary.

I believe that John was related to my great-grandmother Mary J. (O'Connor) Kearney, who was from the Tralee area of Co, Kerry. (She lived in Boston & Quincy). I think he was probably a cousin.

I know my Mary had relatives in the Boston area, & the elder John seems to be the same one to have witnessed my Mary's husband's naturalization in Boston in 1904. I have already found this O'Connor family on the 1900-1920 census in Boston.

I would like to be able to figure out if John is related & how, but I'm unable to determine his parents' names or what part of Ireland he is from thus far.

That would be my ggggreat grandpa. His daughter Arti(I'm not sure of the spelling) listed as A.C Tirrell, I met. My line derives from Renwick, son of Donna Lee Sveine, daughter of Fay Leslie Tirrell, daughter of Leslie Levingston Tirrell, son of Hosea Ballou Tirrell. Here is a link

http://genealogy.bellew-campbell.org/getperson.php?personID=...

I hope this helps. If you can find anything dating before him let me know. As you can see it end with him.

He also opened a store. Which is still in business. Here is an old newspaper article of the grand opening. The middle column is about him. It may be hard to read but VERY interesting.

Mary Brunell, daughter of Felix Brunell and Rosalie Faucher, married Charles Gosslin, son of Bruno and Sophia Goslin on Oct 123, 1877 in Hardwick, MA. Please see attachment. You may have noticed that on the 1870 Census for Hardwick, the children of Felix and Rose Brunell are listed as Edith, age 16, Mary, age 12, Delia, age 9 and Emma, age 9 months. All children listed as born in Vermont. Then on the 1880 Census, the children of Felix and Rosella Brunell are listed as Vicorie, age 23, Deline, age 18, and Emma, age 11. All children listed as born in Canada. Actually, your GGGGrandmother, Mary Brunelle was baptized Marie Victorié Brunel on 7 Aug 1858, born the same day, at St-Melanie, Joliette County, Quebec, the daughter of Felix Brunel and Rosalie Faucher. (see 2 attachments). The godparents are Alexis Joly and Zoé Brunel. The latter Zoé Brunel is the sister of Felix. Both were the children of Benoni Brunelle and Marie Dehais. Felix Brunelle was born 2 March 1825 and baptized the same day at St-Joseph, Maskinongé, Quebec.
Emily Brunelle, the younger sister of your Mary Brunelle, married Ralph (Raphael) Gosslin, the brother of Charles, on Nov 23, 1886 in Hardwick, MA (attached). Rosalie Faucher (or Foucher) Brunelle died Feb 23, 1890, in Hardwick. Her father is listed as Joseph Foshe (Faucher), mother's name unknown. Felix Brunell died 31 Jul 1899 in Hardwick, MA.

I have a great deal more information available. Your Brunell line traces back to Joseph Beaufort-Brunel-Limousin, born in Champlain, Quebec, and his father, the immigrant Hilaire Limousin-dit-Beaufort, born in 11633 in Ste-Radegonde, Poitiers, France. Please contact me through Ancestry and I will provide you with additional details and documentation.

Margaret

The family moved from that address by 1900, and I do know where they ended up. But a couple of generations had lived at that address and I'm wondering who ended up in it after they left. I'm hoping it might be a branch of the family that I haven't tracked down. A shot in the dark, admittedly.

I'm curious. Do you happen to know anything about Eugene O'Donnell's family? Parents, sibblings, where they were from originally.? When they immigrated to Boston etc.

My grandmother was an O'Donnell. Her name was Mary Ann born July 23, 1873 in Co Donegal to James O'Donnell and Susan White Doherty. Her sibblings were Patrick 1867, John 1868, Neil 1871, Mary Ann 1873, Maggie 1875, Denis, 1878, and Philip 1880. Most if not all immigrated to Boston MA area.

I'm wondering if Eugene fits in anywhere with them or with
their cousins from Co Cork who were John O'Donnell and his wife Elizabeth Carney. They had 3 sons John F, Peter and Patrick. I don't however know a thing about John's parents or his sibblings. If they married or not.
I'm reaching I know but you never know unless you ask.

Thank you for your time. Is it covered in the book you mentioned?

Also I'm very interested in the 1973 Chelsea Fire. A friend of mine lived in Chelsea at the time and was burned out of her home loosing everything.(except their lives). I'd like to know how many people were killed(can't recall her telling me this-she may have) and how much property damage was done in chelsea. That fire was seen as far away (at least) as the MA NH border.

Thank you
Barbara

How to find census page corresponding to a street address?

I have a family living at a particular street address through the 1890s (57 Pine, Chelsea) and would like to look at that same address in the 1900 census. How can I find out the ward and district given a street address? There are 5 wards with a total of 25 districts and I'd rather not have to just browse every page.

Maiden name Emma Alice Parker. Married Carl Nordell about 1912. She seems to be living in Boston as least into the 1950's. Any help appreciated!
