I am attempting to find more information on John Joseph Mason.

He was born 4 Nov 1894 in Boston(this is the most solid date I can find, but on other records he reported different years as well). We don't know who his parents are, but the story goes that they died when he was still very young in a car accident. He was then given to an uncle (name unknown) and then to a Catholic Orphanage in Boston. He later moved to Connecticut and the earliest census record I can find of him is from there in 1930.

Now car accidents could't have been all that common in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Maybe in the low hundreds for Boston? Would there be any kind of list with that information in it?

I'm also wondering where I can get a list of Catholic Orphanages that were around during that time.
