Classification: Marriage
Surnames: CUSTER, WHITNEY, PHIPPS, TRAIN
A wedding of interest last night to a large Dorchester circle was that of Miss Caroline Phipps, daughter of Mrs. Samuel Phipps, of 46 King Street, Dorchester, and William Custer.

The bride is the niece of Mrs. A.D.T. Whitney, the author, and granddaughter of the late Enoch Train, a well-known Dorchester citizen of former days.

The drawing room was beautifully decorated with autumn flowers, leaves and berries. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Eugene Shippen, George Hall being best man.

The bride was in white silk, with orange flowers in the tulle veil and a bouquet of bride roses.

Miss Custer, of Mansfield, O., the maid of honor, was in white organdie over pale blue silk and carried a large bouquet of daybrak carnations.

Little Elinor Whitney and Katharine Morey were the ribbon bearers that preceded the bridal party. They were in dainty white organdie frocks.

A reception followed the ceremony. The orchestra was stationed in the library. Quite a number of guests were from distant cities.

The gifts were many and very choice. Mr. and Mrs. Custer will be at home, Wednesdays in December, at 36 Winslow Avenue, West Somerville.
