Hi,
I've got a copy of Genealogy of the TIRRELL FAMILY OF WEYMOUTH, MASS, BY Benj. Tirrell 1851.
On page 13 he states "Of the other sons and daughters of Isaac and Alice(Shaw), viz. George, Shaw, Olive and Mariam, we have learned nothing..." This George Tirrell(Terrell) is my line. I have been given that information by a cousin. George was in Philadelphia on the 1790 Census where he had married Jane Street and they had children(given some of the family names.)
Has anyone asked you about this George? Has George, son of Isaac and Alice Shaw Tirrell, ever been mentioned in any Weymouth, MA history books as having moved to PA? Is it possible he was in the Rev. War and that is why he ended up in Phila?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Is George a modern name for Gideon?
Best regards,
Mary in Alabama
