I am also interested in researching an old location of a seaman's home. Some were called Soldier's and Sailor's homes, and some were called Snug Harbor. Or at least 2 were called Snug Harbor. There was a Sailor's home in Chelsea, Quincy, and Staten Island, NYC. As the sailors of the Civil War died they probably closed some locations and moved the remaining sailors to another location.
