Thomas Damon, b. 18 August 1777, married Lavina Forbush 28 May 1800 at Ware, Hampshire County, Mass. They eventually remove to Warren County, Penn. where Thomas d. 26 February 1849 and Lavina d. at Spring Creek 22 May 1862. Both are bur. In David Curtis Cemetery, Columbus, Penn.
Lavina b. probably at Greenwich 2 October 1870 dau. of James Forbush and Eunice Brown.
By 1810 there is a Thomas Damon in Chesterfield, Hampshire County, Mass. I originally thought this was Lavina’s Thomas, but a review of the Chesterfield vital records is causing me to reevaluate that assumption. There are four births recorded for a Lucy (1805), Roxy (1807), Freeman (1809) and Caleb Moses (1812), children of Thomas and Sarah.
I have two issues. First, none of the above children are found near their parents in Penn., but there are two that are Porter Edward (b. 1804) and Joseph (b. 1813) – bracketing the children above.
Second, I have just found a 40 year old Freeman with a 66 year old Sarah, both b. at Mass., in the 1850 census for Charlestown, Portage County, Ohio, while Thomas and Lavina are enumerated that same year in Spring Creek, Penn.
Another online tree shows children being born at Eaton, Madison County, N.Y. in 1807.
