Seeking info about Anna Galary

I am seeking information about Anna Galary (born btwn 1893 and 1897 in Poland).

We know very little about Anna other than she appears in the 1930 census in Peabody, MA married to Joseph Guzowsky (also spelled Jozef Guzofski/Guzowski) with three children. Alexander and Anthony are Joseph's from a previous marriage. Chester (b 1928) is Anna's from her marriage to Joseph. The census also tells us that Anna arrived in the US in 1912.

We know that Anna also had a daughter, Genevieve/Jennie in 1934. Anna died in 1941. Jennie remembers going to see some "cousins" in Amesbury, Mass when she was 8 or 9. I did find record in the 1930 census of Stanley Galary in Amesbury. He later married Sarah and lived with her in Newburyport.

If anyone has additional information about Anna or Stanley Galary, I appreciate anything you can share with me.

This might be her in 1912...

Her father's name appears to be Michal Galary in Borki. The person she was coming to see was her sister, I think, and I can't quite decipher the name. It is a married name (not Galary). The reason I think it's her sister is that originally they wrote "Broth", and then wrote "Sis" above.

Also, the 1930 Census indicates that her first marriage was at age 22, which would be abt 1919.

There were a good number of Galary's from Borki that sailed into NY, with MA as a destination. For example in Oct 1912, a Michal Galary, age 20, arrived heading to Amesbury to his brother in Law, Josef Knap on Mill St. Michal, btw, was Polish but the record indicates born in Austria.

I'll keep looking at this, but it might take a bit to trace through records and connect individuals.

Hi John -

I have spent the past few months working on the information you sent regarding Antonina Galary in January. I don't think she is my Anna. I was in Peabody last week and went to the cemetery (found her headstone). It appears she was born in 1904. I also spoke to her daughter (who remembers a small bit about her). The 1904 birth year also matches the age of first marriage (1926) I understand from her daughter.

I don't think it is coincidental that Antonina was headed to Newbury, MA and that is very close to the geographical location her daughter remembers visiting as a child. She is likely a family member...I am just not sure how she is related. Older sister? Cousin? I am just not sure.

If you run across any other Galary information in Newbury/Amesbury (or have suggestions about where I can look), I'd appreciate it. There are many Galarys in other parts of MassI...I am not sure how they fit either.
