I would like to correspond with anyone who may have family information on the Nolen families in the New England colonies during the time period from 1700 to 1800. James Nolen (b. abt 1770) was my 3rd great-grandfather. It is said he came from Boston, Massachusetts. I have an obituary matching the year he was born and was survived by his wife Sarah. James Nolen died in January of 1860 near where his only known son was born (Jason Nolen) in Greenville, SC. I suspect that James Nolen was a descendent of one of the five Nolen brothers who came to America after their big fallout with King James of England.
