Virginia Delisle
NORTH ADAMS -- Virginia Delisle, 91, of Village East, Apartment 6A, died Saturday at Sweet Brook Care Center, Williamstown, where she was admitted Oct. 9.
Born in North Adams on Oct. 28, 1908, daughter of Andrew and Anna Burnash Durocher, she was a lifelong resident and attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School.
Mrs. Delisle was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1970.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, a member and past president of the former Ladies of Charity and a former member of St. Ann's Society.
Her husband, Lionel J. Delisle, whom she married Sept. 1, 1924, died Sept. 9, 1974.
She leaves two daughters, Jacqueline Lavariere of Drury and Barbara Hebert of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; a brother, Michael Durocher of Winter Haven, Fla.; a sister, Gertrude Graziola of North Adams; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Virginia Delisle will be Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS Funeral Home, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 in Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Notre Dame Church Renovation Fund through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., 01247.
