From the Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) Thursday May 1, 2003:

Robert Garramone 71, died Monday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long illness.

Born, raised and educated in New Rochelle, NY he graduated from New Rochelle High School.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married the following year.

Mr. Garramone worked for 36 years for the New Rochelle Board of Education. He retired in 1993 as plant supervisor and moved to South Dennis.

A member of NRA, North American Hunting Club and Retired Men's Club of Cape Cod, he enjoyed hunting, sailing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude "Trudy" (Dos Reis) Garramone, two daughters, Kathy Nardi of Yarmouthport and Lisa Gregory of New Milford, NJ, four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today in Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. Servuces begub at 9am tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at 10am in St. Pius X church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Summer Street, Yarmouthport.
